Be An Overcomer

Jesus and His Word provide us all we need to be overcomers over any affliction

For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. (1John 5:4)

You can’t be an overcomer if there isn’t something to overcome  – those who sail through life without a care are not overcomers

But you can be an overcomer even if you’re not completely healed

For the chronically ill and afflicted, overcoming doesn’t just mean attaining total healing or deliverance from your issues

You overcome the enemy every time you hold fast to your faith while the enemy is taking advantage of your infirmity to try and get you to give up

You achieve an even bigger victory when you do something for the Lord in spite of your afflictions and the enemy’s attacks

He who overcomes will inherit all things, and I will be his God, and he will be My son. (Revelation 21:7)

Jesus also says there are many rewards for the overcomers in his letters to the seven churches

To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God. (Revelation 2:7)

He who overcomes shall not be hurt by the second death (Revelation 2:11)

To him who overcomes I will give some of the hidden manna to eat. And I will give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written which no one knows except him who receives it. (Rev. 2:17)

And he who overcomes, and keeps My works until the end, to him I will give power over the nations. (Revelation 2:26)

He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels. (Rev. 3:5)

He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go out no more. I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My God, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God. And I will write on him My new name. (Revelation 3:12)

To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. (Revelation 3:21)

What enables us to become more than conquerors?

Holding fast to our faith and pushing forward despite our difficulties

As it is written: “For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. (Romans 8:36-37)
